Motocross riders will be heading to Masaka this weekend for the first round of Mountain Dew National Motocross Championship at E-Villas Kaliisizo.

A couple of younger and experienced riders will be fighting to kick start the season on high as they fight for points in the seasonal opener.

Rider Miguel Katende who had just returned to the sport after a year long hiatus due to a leg injury sustained in the August 2023 championship and education issues, will be part of the race.

Katende fresh from passing the Primary Leaving Exams with 9 aggregates at St. Francis Junior School Buddo, promises fire works ahead of the event. He will be competing in the MX85cc category this year.

“I didn’t ride last year because of the injury and school but thank God am back and now well focused to continue from where I stopped in 2023. I have been training hard a got a feel of the race in November during the last championship round at Smart Beach, Mityana and here I am, ready to fight and win,” says the St. Francis Junior School Buddo, Old Boy.

The event will start on Saturday with checking of bikes at Nabisere Hotel before action the following day.
