The Uganda National Netball team, She Cranes has today, Wednesday January 29th, departed for the 2025 Vitality Netball Nations Cup in Nottingham.
The team is currently in transit in Rwanda from where it will fly (11am) direct to Heathrow Airport and then connect to Nottingham.
The contingent comprised of seven officials and eight players who travelled in the first batch abroad Rwanda Air. They include; Irene Eyaru, Penlop Amiya, Privas Kayeny, Mutesi Nassimu, Anisha Muhameed Nakate, Margie Baagala, Christine Namulumba and Sandra Nambirige.
The other four players; Racheal Nanyonga, Ayaa Gloria, Joan Recoboth, Hindu Namutebi and President Jocelyn Ucanda couldn’t travel due to the delay in their UK VISAS. They will travel tomorrow. Mary Nuba is already in the UK.
“The Visas came back for a few players and officials; some did not return and so we felt it wise that those whose travel documents were ready should travel other than waiting for the rest of the team whose visas had not reached yet. The team boarded Rwanda on time and set off from Rwanda at 11am. Therefore, the second batch will travel on Thursday same time aboard Rwanda Airlines,” said Ucanda.
The Vitality Netball Nations cup will run from February 1st-9th in the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, United Kingdom.
