Moonlight Rally Sprint is back on the dusty road after over two-decade hiatus.
The first night event is officially paraded as ASAS Rally Sprint, will be staged in midnight of March 15 this year at Tanganyika Packers grounds in Kawe, Dar es Salaam.

An official from the Automobile Association of Tanzania(AAT), Mudassir Ghotey, said the inaugural Moonlight Rally Sprint will be staged on March 15, when the moon is full.
He said it has to be staged at midnight after Iftar time since the event falls in the Ramadan session when Muslims are fasting.
The last time the Moonlight Rally was staged was in 2001.

The Moonlight Rally Sprint is the second round of Dar Rally Sprint. Manveer Birdi, who won the first round of the sprint in January this year, is among the prominent drivers listed for the short circuit road event.
Also listed for the event are Irfaan Aladin, Randeeo Birdi, Harinder Deere, and Zubayr Piredena, all from Dar es Salaam.
Ghotey said he expects more than 30 entries in the coming event as the listing process of the participants is still going on.
“Anyone from in or outside Dar es Salaam is welcome,” said Ghotey.
