MX Cranes beats Kenya to defend CAC championship

The Uganda National Motocross team, MX Cranes has won the FIM Africa Central Africa Motocross Championship (CAC). The Cranes not only won the championship but also defended it.

A team of 45 riders led by Jude Kylan Musedde, Fortune Ssentamu, Gift Ssebuguzi and Waleed Ali Omar who won their classes, today had to fight in Vipingo Ridge MX track to keep the lead it had attained on March 14th-15th weekend in Kaliisizo during the first round.

To win, Uganda collected a mammoth of 911 points ahead of Kenyan who got 813 on their home soil to finish second in round two as it was during round one when they collected 179. Uganda had 1,637 points from round one.

A total of 2,548 points gave Uganda the championship with Kenya finishing second on 992 points.

Musedde collected 60 points in the MX50cc class as well as Ssentamu in MX1, Ssebuguzi (MX125cc) and Omar in MX2 class.

This win (CAC championship) comes after a recent second place finish by the MX Cranes in the Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) that took place in Morocco thus a significant development in the sport.
