The National Badminton League 2025 season 3 returns this weekend at a new venue scheduled to start tomorrow morning at CFK Badminton Club headquarters in Kalerwe, Mawanda Road.
The decision came after previously venue (Lugogo indoor Arena) being used for Regional Volleyball club tournament hence making Uganda Badminton Association to move the league opener to CFK Badminton courts.

The Badminton League being the first in Africa was first launched in 2011 but failed to live up to its expectations and later dropped, it has seen its rebirth in 2023 as UBA fronted consistency as a key issue in developing the game across the country.
The team may have a minimum of six players and maximum of twelve for given tie. The format for the national school league will be Thomas and Uber ( girls team play alone and boys play alone, expect primary category) (7 games per league category ) comprising of 4 singles and 3 doubles .
The super league, the national corporate league and Schools Primary league will officially start on the 22nd march 2025 the same day the schools league resumes.

The Association chairperson Annet Nakamya hinted on the development of the league as key issue with consistency competition and their target is to keep the league running.
“Since we have three categories, the objectives of the league is looking at development, the players from schools will be getting into elite stage and then for Corporate, is basically for the financial support that we get from these groups and also the continuity of the people who used to play the game. You are going to see many of them including me.” said Annet Nakamya.
