St. Lawrence University (SLAU) has secured a spot in the semifinals of the Pepsi University Football League after holding Ndejje University to a goalless draw in Luwero, advancing with a 2-1 aggregate win.
Having won the first leg 2-1 in Kavule, Mpigi, SLAU only needed a draw to progress, which they managed despite a dull overall performance from both sides. Neither team showed a strong desire to win, and the goalkeepers, Ndejje’s Ochen Fred and SLAU’s Patrick Mubiru were rarely tested.

With this result, SLAU returns to the semi finals after missing out last season when Kampala University eliminated them.
Meanwhile, Ndejje University’s wait for a semi final appearance continues, with their last one dating back to 2017.
SLAU now joins Uganda Martyrs University (UMU) as the first two teams in the semi finals. Attention now turns to tomorrow match in Mbale, where Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) hosts Kampala University in another crucial return leg.
