NEC FC has defeated Kitara FC in a hard fought 2-1 Victory, of the premier league matchday twenty three at Philip Omondi stadium.

Both sides exhibited resilience, with matching ball possessions, where they equally created goal-scoring opportunities.

NEC FC clinches a 7th straight UPL home win, maintaining an unbeaten league record at home with 11 victories and 1 draw.

Kitara was the first to test their opponents’ net, with a first-half goal from Kabon Living in the 9th minute of the game, making them a notch higher than their hosts.

Two minute later NEC FC equalized through Muzamir Mutyaba with a beautiful response in the 11th minutes of the game to end the first half one all draw.

Enock Ssebagala received his second yellow card and was sent off, picking up his second red card in Uganda Premier League history.

Ajo Emmanuel cliped the ball into the box and captain Marvin Kavuma heads it into Kusiima’s far post to score on his 100th club game thus sealing off their home win in the 86th minute.

With the hard fought victory, Hussein Mbalangu’s side is still placed in the second position on the table with 51 points and one behind the table leaders Vipers SC while Kitara FC descended to 5th with a whopping 35 points in twenty three matches.

In their next matches the Royals will host Lugazi FC on Tuesday 15th April while NEC FC will travel to the Kitende based side Vipers SC on Thursday 17th April 2025 at St Mary’s kitende.
