Musa Ssegaabwe and navigator Mathias Kiyegga of SEGAMU14 Rally Team are already gearing up for the 2026 Uganda National Rally Championship (NRC)! Just days after wrapping up the 2025 season, they’ve headed to Spain to test their brand-new Skoda Fabia RS N5 car.

This move comes after a solid 2025 campaign, where Ssegaabwe finished second overall in the NRC driving a Mitsubishi Evo 9, following a CRC (Clubmanship Rally Championship) win last year. In fact, he narrowly missed the top spot at the season-closing Kabalega Hoima Rally, finishing 45 seconds behind winner Duncan Mubiru ‘Kikankane’ with a time of 1:21:36.40.

Speaking earlier, Ssegaabwe had set his sights on the NRC title, saying, “If not this year, I’m already prepping a brand-new car to make it happen next year.” Looks like he’s making good on that promise!

The Skoda Fabia RS N5, built by Spanish company RMC Motorsport, is designed for competitive national rallies. Key specs:
- Engine: 1.6L PSA turbo, ~310 horsepower
- Gearbox: 6-speed sequential
- Focus: Bridging the gap between 2WD and Rally2 cars, with 4-wheel traction at a reasonable cost
- Performance: Slightly slower than Rally2 cars, but a great option for aspiring drivers

With the 2026 NRC kicking off in late January, Ssegaabwe has got the early momentum. Will he finally clinch that championship title?

Sounds like a fantastic opportunity for Musa and the team to really put the Skoda through its paces!
