Dennis Omedi’s time at APR FC has come to an end, with the Ugandan forward among four players set to leave the Rwandan champions as the club begins preparations for the 2026-27 season.
Omedi exits after two successful years in Kigali during which he helped APR establish itself as the dominant force in Rwandan football. The forward played a key role in back-to-back league triumphs and was part of the squad that lifted the Hero’s Cup in 2025. Last season, he contributed six goals and five assists as APR retained their league crown.
His departure is expected to attract considerable attention, with clubs from Saudi Arabia and Tanzania reportedly monitoring his situation closely. With only a few months remaining on his contract, APR have opted to part ways with the forward as both sides prepare for the next phase of their journeys.
Alongside Omedi, the club has also confirmed the exits of Jean Pierre Ishimwe, Gilbert Mugisha and Ramadhan Niyibizi. The trio leave after serving the club during one of the most successful periods in its recent history.
The departures leave APR with the task of rebuilding sections of a squad that has delivered consistent domestic success over the last two campaigns. Club officials are now expected to intensify recruitment efforts as they seek suitable replacements ahead of the new season and future continental assignments.
