The King of Bugisu, Omukuka Sir Mike Mudoma, brought the house down as he flagged off the highly anticipated Autocross and Enduro Championship in Mbale. The event, which drew in thousands of fans, showcased the region’s vibrant motorsport scene and highlighted its potential for economic growth.

In his keynote address, Omukuka Sir Mike Mudoma praised the Federation of Motorport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) for organizing the event, which has become a staple of the region’s sporting calendar. He urged FMU to establish a permanent motorsport office in Mbale, citing the significant impact the sport has on the local economy.

“Mbuya nge nga bisiyano, gwasama gwesigama!” (“A good show deserves a bigger audience!”), Omukuka Sir Mike Mudoma exclaimed, emphasizing the massive following motorsport enjoys in the region. “Whereas football is known for many fans, Motorsport pulls thousands of fans and who have a big impact on the economic life of the community.”
The championship, which features top drivers from across the country, promises to be an exhilarating spectacle, with competitors navigating the challenging terrain and showcasing their driving skills.
