Today afternoon at Kampala Club Limited Uganda Squash and Rackets Associations has officially launched the 2025 Uganda Squash Open at Rock Classic Hotel in Tororo.
The event was graced by Africa Squash president Mr Lucky Mlilo, Mr John Bosco Tamwesigire the president of Uganda squash and Rackets Associations, Mr Isa Bbale, Vice president Uganda squash and Rackets Associations, general secretary Shiffah Nantambi and Suudi Raji, a representative from Lactic Sports, a sports manufacturing company.
The tournament will run from February 16th – 22th, 2025 were players from different parts of world will show case their talents in categories including Junior, men and women.
Squash players from Uganda (hosts), Tanzania, Zambia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Rwanda, Ghana, Zanzibar, Nigeria
Egypt, Kenya, Pakistan, India and Namibia registered for the championship slated to take place at Rock Classic Hotel, Tororo.
Team Uganda consists of 37 squash players and ready to show case their skills and talents.
The Africa federation president Dr Lucky is optimistic of a great championship with high quality competition.
“The Uganda Squash Open is expected to be highly hyped with most international players around and the good prize money. These are good signs of Squash development in Uganda and the East Africa zone,” Dr Lucky who donated 240 balls worth Ug.Shs 4,000,000 remarked.
The president of Uganda squash and Rackets Associations, John Bosco expressed his gratitude to Rora Media.
“We are ready and prepared for a successful 2025 Uganda Squash Open championship. We are grateful to the partners and sponsors; the hosts Rock Classic Hotel, National Council of Sports, Lactic sports and others,” Tamwesigire said.
