Speedy medical doctor, Moustapha Mukasa is out to prove doubters wrong as he plots for a perfect finish in the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally.
The Pearl Rally is slated for three days in Mbarara over the May 8th-11th weekend with 11 sections covering a total distance of 486.26 km of which 298.16 km will be liaison as 188.10 km competitive.
Dr. Mukasa who finished 12th in last year’s Pearl Rally and third on NRC calendar standing, says he’s ready to fight this year.
“We are ready Alhamdulillah. We thank God. Fans should in summary expect a spectacle! In shaa Allah,” he stated.
The Equity Bank, Drugs Express and EagleVet Uganda sponsored crew will be driving a Mitsubishi Evo 9 which Mukasa believes is ready to rumble.
“The car is ready, rebuilt a number of things and we have also decided to do a pre event test in shaa Allah to have a practical feel of it after the rebuild.”
Doctor Mukasa will be doing this year’s Pearl Rally with seasonal driver, Omar Mayanja calling notes for him. He’s full of praise for the yet to be seen combination.
“We thank God that we have got a rare chance to explore a rare combination of 2 Uganda NRC podium finishers sitting in the same cockpit. We pray for an exceptional performance arising from this potentially explosive network together with a car similar to the ones both of us won Championships with.”
