Roke telecom rewards Pirates as they beat Kitante Eagles

The Stanbic Black Pirates were on March 15, 2025 rewarded with sh700,000= from telecommunication company Roke Telecom.

The company rewarded Pirates for scoring more than 10 tries in the month of February 2025 in the Nile Special Rugby premiership.

The team received the money after their game against Kitante Eagles which they won 62-22 at Kings Park Arena Bweyogerere in Wakiso district. Ivan Magomu who returned from a suspension is picking up his form scoring a try, 2 conversions, Edson Ariho a try, desire Ayera a try, and Magomu a penalty to give the Hosts 29- 12 halftime time lead.
In the second half the visitors managed two ties by Klaus Katende and Jason Nuwamanya, but the hosts were charged adding more 2 tries by Jeremaih Okello, Daren Yiga, Edson Ariho and Arnold Atukunda.

Team captain Conrad Wanyama attributed the win to teamwork but was not impressed the way his side conceded the two tries in the second half.

“It is a learning lesson. We rested many of our top players because we want young players to get that playing time to build a strong squad,” Wanyama said.The team also received boots support from Trade Lance Company.

The Pirates vice chairman James Byaruhanga thanked the two companies for the support saying that his club is focused on promoting their brands.
The Stanbic Black Pirates play Toyota Buffaloes next Saturday in the Rugby premiership.
