The Uganda U17 girls’ national team, the Teen Cranes are set to face Kenya in the second leg of the 2026 U17 Women’s World Cup Qualifiers today at Nyayo Stadium in Nairobi. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3pm PM East Africa Time.

In the first leg held at Hamz Stadium in Kampala on March 8, 2025, Kenya secured a 2-0 victory over Uganda, with goals from Joan Ogola and Edna Nasipondwi. This result means Uganda must overcome the two-goal deficit to advance to the next round, where they would face either Ethiopia or Cameroon.

Despite the challenging task ahead, head coach Sheryl Botes remains optimistic about her team’s chances. She noted that the team has shown great spirit during training sessions in Kenya and is fully aware of what’s at stake. Botes emphasized their readiness to fight until the final whistle.

The weather forecast for Nairobi today indicates partly sunny conditions with a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, with temperatures reaching up to 85°F (29°C).

All eyes will be on the Teen Cranes as they aim to overturn the deficit and keep their World Cup aspirations alive.
