SC Villa delivered a commanding performance to brush aside Buhimba United with a dominant 4-0 victory at Kadiba stadium, keeping themselves firmly in the thick of the Uganda Premier League title race.

The Jogoos wasted no time stamping their authority on the contest, striking within the opening minute through Patrick Kakande, who finished off a well-worked move to give the hosts a dream start. That early breakthrough set the tone for a one-sided affair, with Villa dictating possession and tempo from the outset.

Their control soon translated into a second goal midway through the first half, as Najib Yiga capped off another flowing attack to double the advantage. Despite a brief pause caused by an injury to key creator Frank Ssebufu—who was later forced off—the hosts remained in full command heading into the break.

After halftime, Villa picked up where they left off, continuing to stretch Buhimba’s fragile defence. Yiga grabbed his second of the evening just before the hour mark, punishing a defensive lapse to effectively put the game beyond reach.

Buhimba showed glimpses of resistance, but their finishing let them down, most notably when a clear chance went begging with the goal at their mercy. Villa, on the other hand, remained clinical and composed, sealing the emphatic win late on when substitute Charles Lwanga capitalised on another defensive error to add a fourth.

The result keeps Villa level on 51 points alongside KCCA and Kitara in a tightly contested chase behind leaders Vipers, who sit on 55 points with a game in hand.

For Buhimba, the defeat deepens their struggles near the bottom, leaving them second from last on 15 points as the fight for survival intensifies.
