The first round of the 2025 National Rally Championship has today been launched at Mwesigwa Resorts, Kibega Sanga.
Lumala @60 Mum @90 Mbarara Rally will be the calendar opener. It will be a two day event starting on Friday 24th to Saturday 25th.

At the launch, federation officials led by president and his vice emphasized on the issue of safety as they called upon the fraternity to observe all the safety aspects.
“We have very easy but dangerous sections so we call upon the fraternity to be safety cautious,” Hajji Hamid Gombe the FMU vice president stated.

FMU president, Jimmy Akena echoed his voice on inviting natives of Mbarara to make Lumala @60 Mum @90 Mbarara Rally a successful one so that it hosts another event later in the year.
“We are planning to have the African Rally Championship round, Pearl of Africa Uganda rally in this region. I call upon everyone to make this event successful so that the ARC round can be done this side,” says Akena.

The title sponsor, has offered trophies for drivers, accommodation for the crew, 100 litres of fuel for the crew among others.
The calendar opener will run on a 140 km competitive distance and 156km liaison. Two sections will be juggled around to make a total of seven.

On Friday Mama 1(Bihare – Sanga) will be done first then to Rukaari Mwesigwa resort for a super special stage. On Saturday morning, Mama section will be done for the second time before drivers head to Lumala section.
The two sections will be repeated. Mama section which consists of 23.58km, will be done thrice.
