Flavor and excitement has increased ahead of the 2025 National Rally Championship calendar opener as two foreign crews have confirmed participation in the anticipated MPU Mbarara Rally.
The MPU Mbarara Rally is named ‘Lumala @60 Mum @90 Mbarara Rally’ and will be celebrating the legendary rally driver, Moses Lumala alongside his mother’s birthday.

Entries were opened earlier last week and a number of local drivers have so far confirmed participation. The entries to a surprise might have unfamiliar names to fans who only follow Ugandan rally.
According to the clerk of the course, Mr. Kisitu Mayanja ‘Mr. Article’ who once served as the FMU deputy vice president in charge of motor cross, Ugandan championship was last year opened to all East African drivers.
“I got some information that two Rwandan crews will be here to participate in the Lumala @60 Mum @90 Mbarara Rally,” Mr. Article stated.
Adolpie “Daddi” Nshimizimana co-driven by Regis Remera in a Subaru Impreza happens to be one of the Rwandese crew who have put in entry.
The calendar opener will run on the weekend of January 24th-26th in Mbarara.

A total distance of 295.16 kilometers, featuring 140.64 km of competitive stages and 154.52 km of liaison will be covered.
The event due to be launched tomorrow will have seven stages, with the Lumala Stage (30.62 km), and the Mama Stage (23.58 kilometers) to be driven multiple times. The 2024 NRC champion, Jas Mangat co-driven by Enock Olinga won last year’s Mbarara Rally.
