The Uganda national beach soccer team, the Sand Cranes, officially begin residential training camp on Sunday, May 25, 2025, as they prepare for the upcoming CECAFA Beach Soccer Championship in Mombasa, Kenya.
According to the statement released, the team reported at FUFA house before heading to the Bamboo Gardens Beach Soccer Arena in Kasanje for intensive training sessions aimed at fine-tuning their skills ahead of the regional tournament. The championship is scheduled for June 6-11 in Mombasa, Kenya.
The team composes of 22 players with four goalkeepers, five defenders, seven midfielders and seven forwards.
Head coach Arch Rica Byaruhanga will lead the technical team, working alongside assistants Akabwai Geofrey and Baker Lukooya, with support from team doctor Kulika Ivan and team manager Ssebagala Tonny.
