She Cranes beat Namibia to register first win at Africa Nations Championships

She Cranes defeated Namibia to register their maiden victory at the Africa Nation championship on Wednesday evening.

Having lost to Zimbabwe on the opening day, She Cranes were rampant as they took care of the Desert Jewels 43-55 at MTC Dome in Swakopmund municipality.

They took the first quarter 15-11 before ensuring they went into the first half with a five goal lead at 32-23.

The third was a more one sided contest as Uganda put out a defensive masterpiece to limit Namibia to just few goals as they took it 44-33 to head into the final quarter leading 55 -43.

There was no difference in the fourth quarter as Uganda continued to press Namibia to claim a 43-55 victory.

She Cranes’ center player, Margaret Bagala was named the player-of-the-match for her performance on the day.

The top two countries from pool 2 will qualify for the semi-finals.

Uganda returns to action against Eswatini on Thursday, 12th December 2024 in Swakopmund municipality.
