The Ugandan women’s Pool team, affectionately known as the She Pool Cranes, have made a sensational start at the Africa Ultimate Pool Championship (also known as the Ultimate Pool South Africa – All African Championship), currently underway at the eBundu Lodge in Mpumalanga.

Defying a grueling overnight journey from Johannesburg, they immediately showcased their incredible resilience and fighting spirit. After an initial tough 19-6 loss to the formidable Ugandan men’s team, the ladies demonstrated their championship mettle by rallying to secure back-to-back victories!

Their impressive run began with a stunning 13-12 narrow triumph over Kenya’s senior team, a win that sent a clear message to their competitors. They then followed this up with another equally impressive victory against Team Windhoek from Namibia, securing a crucial bonus point for their efforts.

The She Cranes are understandably thrilled with their strong start and are brimming with confidence about their potential to upset the odds in the championship. They are set to face 10 more teams in the intense round-robin team event, which concludes on Wednesday. Following the team competition, the highly anticipated singles competition will kick off on Wednesday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Ugandan men’s team is living up to its reputation, maintaining an unbeaten streak in the championship. They have secured two solid wins, first against Uganda B, and then delivering a convincing 16-9 victory over Cuemasters from Tanzania.

The thrilling action at the Africa Ultimate Pool Championship is scheduled to continue until Saturday, October 18, 2025.
