Squash Stars Set to Gather for Second Edition Professor Emmanuel Mutebile Memorial Tournament

The Kampala Club Ltd is hosting the second edition of the professor Emmanuel Mutebile Memorial Squash Tournament which is happening from May 7 to May 10, 2025. Sponsored by the Bank of Uganda.

The Squash community from all corners of Uganda have come together to honor the memory of the late professor Emmanuel Mutebile, the former governor of the Bank of Uganda.

This year, the tournament has attracted Over 100 participants including our brothers and sisters from Uganda and the individual Invitational tournament will feature various categories, including seniors and open competitions.

The Bank of Uganda has injected in 20Million UGX Shillings this year’s individual Invitational tournament .

Special tributes continue to pour in celebrating the life of former Bank of Uganda governor, the Late Professor Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile.Mutebile died on 23 January 2022 in a hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.

He is remembered as one of the most influential economists in Uganda .

Professor Emmanuel Mutebile Memorial Tournament Director Mr Kawooya Michael highlighted the Mutebile’s contributions to the banking sector and Squash sector adding that its important to aways remember him.

“This is the Second edition of Mutebile memorial tournament at Kampala club Limited. It happens every year since we lost our dear governor who was also the squash players ,”Kawooya saidMichael Kawooya called on government to put more effort in the game of Squash “The purpose is government to make the game of gold important, even different stake holders can support the game.
