St. Lawrence University’s dominance in the inter university Beach Soccer championship continued on Sunday, February 9th, as they successfully won their fourth title at Bomboo Resort in Kasanje, Wakiso.
They defeated defending champions MUBS 2-1 in the final adding the trophy to the one they won earlier in 2018 ,2022 and 2023. Mubiru Patrick’s brace was enough to earn them the trophy. Mbabazi Joe scored for MUBS.
On way to the final, St Lawrence outclassed KIU 3-0, while MUBS defeated Buganda Royal 5-3 in the semifinal phase.
Buganda Royal University won Bronze medals after beating KIU 1-0 in the third -place-play-off game.
Seven University participated in the 2025 Inter University Championship. They include; St Lawrence, Kampala University, Kampala International University (KIU), Buganda Royal Institute, Muteesa I Royal University, and Cavendish University
Since its inception in 2011, the tournament has grown into a major event for university beach soccer, fostering both competition and development .
