The battle ground is set and the scrutineering has cleared all the Africa Rally Championship category cars ahead of the Shell VPower Pearl of Africa Uganda rally in the districts of Kiruhura and Mbarara.
Viren Goricha told Rora Media that is impressed by this year’s turn up and the standard of cars that will be competing in the event.
“I think everything is ok and we are waiting for the drivers to show their ability,” Goricha said.

As the cars head to the qualifying stage on Thursday May 7th ,2026 ,The Africa Rally Champion Yassin Nasser, 2025 runners up Samman Vohra, and second runners up Karan Patel are spitting fire.
The trio, will be battle it out for the continental silver ware as they keep their chances of winning this year’s title alive.
Whereas the fight for the crown is much cited on the top three crews as named earlier,as pre-event favourites other crews including Nikhil Sachania, Hamza Anwar, Jasmeet Chana, Oscar Ntambi will be out to upset the top trio.

Still on the same note Ugandan crews including Duncan Mubiru Kikankane, the International University of East Africa (IUEA) driver Hassan Alwi, Ambrose Byona aka Omunyeeto , Ronald Sebuguzi and Musa Ssegaabwe will give the top stars a run for their money.
Alwi the National Rally Championship opening round winner will be out to prove that the Mbale Victory was not a fluke and is out to strengthen his chase for the NRac title.

The Shell V-power pearl of Africa Rally Co-sponsored by KCB Uganda , Lake View Hotel and Nivana has attracted a record 54 crews from Kenya, Tanzania,Rwanda and host Uganda.
