Three Kenyan ministries collaborate for successful international events with WRC Rally inclusive

Three Kenyan ministries have teamed up to ensure that the country organizes colourful international events.

Kenya is to host events including; the Magical Kenya Golf Open, WRC Safari Rally, Nairobi City Marathon, CECAFA tournament and African Nations Championship (CHAN) all this year.

Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports alongside Cooperative and MSMEs ministry and ministry of Tourism and Wildlife collaborated for the noble cause.

Cabinet Secretaries Salim Mvurya (Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports), Wycliffe Oparanya (Cooperative and MSMEs), and Rebecca Miano (Tourism and Wildlife) held a tripartite meeting to deliberate on measures aimed at advancing the integration of sports and tourism as an avenue for youth empowerment, job creation and economic growth ahead of forthcoming international events.

The three Cabinet Secretaries agreed to work collaboratively to leverage on the international sporting events that Kenya will be hosting to enhance talent development, attract tourists, create jobs, boost businesses, and put money in the pockets of the youth.

“There are a number of international tournaments that Kenya is hosting that require a Whole-Of-Government approach; and therefore, the Ministries represented here by my two colleagues will be very crucial in looking at the kind of opportunities that we can work around together to benefit the young people of our country,” said CS Mvurya.

The Magical Kenya Golf Open is slated for February 20th – 23rd, WRC Safari Rally is for March 20th – 23rd, Nairobi City Marathon (July 6th), and African Nations Championship (CHAN) for August.
