The Uganda Badminton Association recently concluded a two-day Shuttle Time workshop at Kinono Girls Secondary School in Rwampala district. The workshop, which kicked off on Saturday, October 25, 2025, aimed to expand the sport of badminton across different parts of the country and equip teachers and youth with necessary skills.

26 sports teachers from various schools in Rwampala district attended the workshop with the aim of establishing grassroots programs, secure partnerships for equipment and facilities, and promoting both indoor and outdoor versions of the sport

Teachers who participated in the workshop expressed gratitude, stating they gained valuable insights and will introduce badminton in their respective schools.

Simon Mugabi, CEO of Badminton Uganda, highlighted the significance of the workshop in helping them comply with the new law covering 75% of schools. The Shuttle Time program, developed by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), provides free resources, training, and equipment to empower school teachers with the skills to deliver safe and inclusive badminton lessons to children and youth
