The Uganda national women’s basketball team, the Gazelles, is gearing up for the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 campaign with a high-performance training camp in Egypt. The team will depart for Cairo on July 11th and engage in intense on-court preparation, including three international practice games against top-notch opponents.
The Gazelles will play three high-level practice games at Cairo’s Mostapha Sports Halls from July 12th to 15th, providing vital competitive exposure ahead of the continental championship. These games will enable Head Coach Nicholas Natuhereza to test strategies, integrate players, and assess form against fellow AfroBasket contenders.

After the competitive fixtures in Cairo, the team will shift to Alexandria for team bonding, tactical fine-tuning, and physical recovery. This phase will focus on internal development, ensuring the squad is mentally and strategically unified before the tournament.
The Gazelles will conclude their Egyptian camp on July 24th and depart directly for Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where they will acclimatize before the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 tournament kicks off on July 26th.
