Ugandan Motocross lady rider, Sharifah Kateete will be part of the team to represent Africa at the 2nd edition of FIM Oceania Women’s MX Cup slated for March next year in Australia.

Kateete’s inclusion on the team was due to her good performance in the recent concluded African Championship, Motocross of African Nations (MXoAN) were she had a stellar performance in Morocco where she was part of the MX Cranes that finished second overall.

Given the fact that she had to ride without feeling the track due to late arrival in Marrakech, Kateete finished fourth in MX2 lady’s category. However, she and Swansi Swambo brought home gold for the WMX in country division category.

“Am so happy to be part of the team to represent Africa. When the news broke at first, I didn’t believe it thinking it was a lie. Am now looking forward to using this opportunity to inspire other Ugandan lady riders and to be a good example to future riders,” says an excited Kateete while talking to Rora Media.

The second-year computer data base, MUBS student (Kateete) is on the list with other 5 African lady riders including Zambian Leah Heygate, Mienke Cawood, Zoe Botha and Ivana Venter all from South Africa alongside Kenyan Atete Benzinge.
