The Ugandan whistle-blowing duo of Brian Nsubuga Emmy and Isaac Sengendo are once again in the spotlight after receiving prestigious appointments from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the upcoming 2026 CAF Futsal Qualifiers.

These fresh assignments, scheduled for early February across Southern and East Africa, serve as a testament to the growing reputation and consistency of Ugandan officiating on the continental stage.

The Assignments
According to official CAF match appointment documents, the pair will travel to Maputo and Zanzibar for high-stakes qualifiers:

Mozambique vs. Mauritania (Feb 8, 2026): Brian Nsubuga will serve as the First Referee, while Isaac Sengendo has been named the Second Referee for this clash at the Pavilhão da Liga in Maputo.

Tanzania vs. Cote d’Ivoire (Feb 3, 2026): The duo will also officiate at the Amani Indoor Stadium in Zanzibar. Nsubuga will take on the role of Third Referee, with Sengendo acting as the Reserve Assistant Referee.

The appointments are not a stroke of luck but a continuation of a steady upward trajectory for the two officials. Both have become familiar faces in CAF competitions over the last few seasons.
