URA FC vs Lugazi FC – Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo at 4 PM

The Tax collectors will be looking to secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they welcome Uganda Premier League newcomers Lugazi FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

URA FC will miss out seven key players including goalkeepers Denis Otim and Abdu Magada, Hudu Mulikyi who are suspended. Isma Mugulusi, Emmanuel Okech, Lugolobi Shafiq, George Masembe and Nicholas Kabonge, will also be unavailable for selection due injuries.

URA FC head coach Alex Isabirye and his assistant coach Richard Kasule will miss out this encounter as theyare attending CAF A coaching course in Njeru. The goalkeeping coach Jamil Damba will be in charge against Lugazi this evening in Nakivubo.

Unlike their previous home fixtures played under floodlights at 7 PM, this clash will kick off at 4 PM. The Tax Collectors come into the game on the back of a morale-boosting 2-1 victory over Express FC last Friday.

Alex Isabirye’s four-time league champions are on 18 points in 5th place, just nine behind NEC who lead the standings although the Bugolobi based club have played one more game.

The newly promoted side are unbeaten in eight matches since replacing coach Sadiq Sempigi. Lugazi, managed by Steven Bogere are 12th with 13 points, just four above the relegation zone places and thus need to win to pull away.

Head-to-Head

This will be the first-ever Uganda Premier League encounter between URA FC and Lugazi FC. However, the two sides last met in the 2020 Uganda Cup, where URA FC claimed a commanding 4-0 victory at Mehta Stadium.

While URA FC aim for consecutive wins, Lugazi FC will be hoping to end their run of five straight draws.
