Nicholas Mwere’s late strike secures a point for BUL against NEC

BUL FC has picked up a point on the road against old stubborn NEC FC in a closely contested tie at Najjembe Stadium in Lugazi.

Nicholas Mwere’s 89minute goal guided the Eastern giants (BUL FC) to a point though NEC remained top of the Uganda premier League.

Cromwell Rwothomio broke the dreadlock for NEC FC in the 38th minute, expertly heading home a beautifully delivered ball by defender Gaddafi Wahab.

The draw meant NEC FC remains at top of the table with 27 points, but Vipers SC could leapfrog them with a win on Friday.

BUL FC, on the other hand, are now 10th with 16 points, only seven points above the relegation zone.

On the other side, Soltilo Bright Stars FC earned a hard-fought (2-1) win over UPDF FC this evening at kavumba Recreation center.
