URA FC have bolstered their defensive ranks with the return of seasoned left back Disan Galiwango, who rejoins the Uganda Premier League after cutting short his stint in Tanzania.
The Ugandan international arrives from Dodoma Jiji FC on a two-year deal, becoming the Tax Collectors’ latest reinforcement as they seek greater consistency in the second round of the season. He is the club’s second mid-term addition following the capture of Moses Waiswa.

Galiwango brings a wealth of experience and a decorated résumé. During his three-year spell at Vipers SC between 2020 and 2023, he won two league titles and two domestic cups, cementing his reputation as one of the country’s most dependable fullbacks. His exposure at both domestic and regional level is expected to inject leadership and composure into the URA dressing room.
The defender’s career path reflects steady growth. From his early days at Rifo Soccer Academy, he progressed through spells at Simba FC and The Saints before brief time at Water FC. His performances at Express FC elevated his profile and earned him a high-profile switch to Vipers, where he matured into a championship-winning defender.
A move to Tanzania followed in 2023 with Kagera Sugar FC before he later joined Dodoma Jiji. After mutually agreeing to end his contract early, the defender opted for a homecoming and a fresh challenge with URA.

His arrival addresses a key gap at left back, a position that had been left thin following multiple loan departures. Comfortable pushing forward as well as defending, Galiwango offers tactical flexibility on the flank.
Speaking after signing, he said he is ready to embrace the responsibility.
“I’m excited for this opportunity. URA is ambitious, and I’m here to contribute experience, hard work and leadership,” he noted.
Head coach Hussein Mbalangu described him as a stabilizing figure whose winning mentality could help transform performances into positive results.
