The USSSA National 6th Kabaddi Ball Games Championship got underway in thrilling fashion, with exciting performances marking the opening day of the tournament. For the first time, kabaddi has been showcased as part of the USSSA Ball Games, with eight schools from across the country competing for the national title.
Defending boys’ champions Kyadondo Secondary School made a strong statement by defeating tournament newcomers Masindi Secondary School 51–35 in the championship opener.
In the girls’ category, last year’s runners-up Bombo Army Secondary School began their campaign in impressive style, thrashing Masindi Kitara Secondary School 73–15.
In other boys’ results, Bombo Army Secondary School defeated Masindi Secondary School 35–26, while last year’s runners-up St. Barnabas College Migadde cruised to a convincing 63–22 victory over Masindi Kitara Secondary School.
This year’s championship is being played in a round-robin format, with the overall winners earning the honour of representing Uganda at the upcoming East Africa Kabaddi Championship.
