SC Villa shift attention back to the Uganda Premier League with a tricky visit to Midigo where they take on struggling Calvary FC on Monday. Rather than focusing on a season double, the record champions are targeting maximum points to intensify pressure at the summit of the table.

The Jogoos edged the first-round encounter 1-0 at Kadiba courtesy of Aslam Ssemakula’s decisive strike, but this time they travel with selection concerns. Najib Yiga misses out through suspension after accumulating three yellow cards, while Elvis Ngonde and Charles Lwanga remain unavailable due to injury setbacks.

Villa head into the contest buoyed by their recent Uganda Cup triumph, where they knocked out BUL FC in a tense penalty shootout during the Round of 32. In contrast, Calvary have had ample time to regroup after their early Cup exit in the Round of 64.

Sitting fourth on 34 points, Villa know victory could lift them to second place, within touching distance of leaders Vipers SC. For Calvary, who are rooted at the bottom with just five points and still chasing a first league win, the clash represents another desperate attempt to revive their fading survival hopes.
