SC Villa has managed to register their first away win in the Uganda Premier League this season after beating Soltilo Bright Stars 3-1 at Kavumba Recreation ground.
The defending champions had earlier gone nine away games without a win. They had lost six and drew three.
However against Bright Stars they put this jinx to an end. Aslam Ssemakula, Charles Lwanga and
Patrick Jonah Kakande strikes saw Villa win their seventh game this season in the league as they moved ninth with 27 points.
However to Bright Stars, the defeat continued to sink them in the relegation zone where they are second from bottom with 12 points. Striker Nelson Senkatuka scored a consolation for Bright Stars who have only won two in 20 games this season. They have six draws and 12 losses.
Villa’s victory was sign of relief for Coach Morley Byekwaso who has been under pressure. Earlier Villa had lost two games against Maroons and UPDF and fans asked management for his sacking.
