The Six Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC completed a stunning double over URA FC with a 2-0 victory at the St Mary’s stadium in Kitende on Uganda Premier League second leg return.
The second half goals from attacking midfielder Allan Okello and defender Enock Luyima were enough to guide the Venoms to three priceless points.
Viper’s broke dreadlocks in the 54th minutes of the game through star boy Allan Okello converted penalty after Kenneth Kimera’s work rate and neat footwork.
This was Okello’s twelve goal of season and it took him to top of the Uganda premier league 2024/25 top scorer chart. It also marked the 251 Uganda premier goal so far this season.
Enock Luyima delivered pass from Kenneth Kimera to score along range beauty goal with his left-footed shot from outside the box in the 75th minutes of the game.
Isaac Ogwang made his debut against URA after vipers secured his signature on the final day of transfer windows.
The venoms won their fourth consecutive game of the Uganda premier league after wins at Mbale Heroes FC 4-0, UPDF FC 1-0 and Maroons FC 1-0 last time out, at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
The kitende based side stretches their Uganda premier league table lead with 37 points in 16 games while URA remains in 5th position with 24 points in Sixteen matches.
Vipers will return in action on Sunday 16th February 2025 against KCCA FC at MTN Omondi in Lugogo while URA will hosts Maroons on Saturday 16th February at Hamz stadium in Nakivubo.
