Wakiso Giants 1-1 SC Villa

The StarTimes Uganda Premier League second round has returned this evening. Wakiso Giants FC clash with SC Villa settled for a point after a 1-1 draw at the Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.

In the 23th minute, Aslam Ssemakula gave the visitors the lead scoring in the right place at the right time to head in David Owori cross.

The Hero of the day for the hosts was forward Hudson Mbalire who equalized in the 61th of the game to score his third goal of the campaign.

Both teams showcased their determination throughout the match, creating numerous scoring opportunities and keeping spectators captivated with their impressive performance.

The record champions SC Villa in the first ten minutes, created more chances at goal. Owori took a good free kick but James Alitho was alert.

The substitute Andrew Otim missed an opportunity to tap in for Villa into an empty net after failing to beat goalkeeper James Alitho.

With this result, SC Villa remains strong in the league table, sitting at the 8th position with 21 points, while Wakiso Giants hold their red zone at 14th place with 13 points.

In next matches Wakiso Giants is set to face Lugazi FC at Najjembe stadium on Sunday February 16 2025 while record champions will hosts the rivals Express at Luzira maximum prison ground on Saturday.
