Vipers SC were left frustrated yet again despite maintaining their firm grip at the summit of the Uganda Premier League table following a 1-1 draw with NEC FC at St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The Venoms looked set for maximum points after taking an early lead through Milton Karisa in the seventh minute, finishing off a sublime assist from Abdulkarim Watambala. Vipers dominated large spells of the contest, but NEC grew into the game and found a leveller in the 75th minute through Warren Buule.
Despite dropping two points, Vipers remain top of the standings with 38 points, a commanding 14-point cushion over seventh-placed NEC.
Elsewhere, Buhimba Saints were held to a dramatic 1-1 draw by Police FC. Male Reagan gave Police the lead in the 75th minute before Erick Washington Nyonnyitono struck deep into stoppage time to rescue a point.
At Entebbe, UPPC edged Mbarara City 1-0 courtesy of Ambrose Kigozi’s 43rd-minute strike, assisted by Steven Munguci.

That’s a tough result for Vipers, but it shows they’re still the team to beat! Great game overall, FilmFanatic
