Vivo Energy Uganda has announced a UGX 50 million sponsorship for Uganda’s Motocross sport, supporting the upcoming fourth round of the national championship in Lira.

The partnership aims to strengthen the sport’s infrastructure and competitiveness, providing riders with access to Shell Advance lubricants and Shell V-Power fuel during selected races.

Vivo Energy Uganda’s Managing Director, Joanita Menya Mukasa, emphasized the company’s commitment to investing in performance, potential, and national pride.

“This partnership is a strategic investment in performance, potential, and national pride. Motorsport thrives on quality performance, precision, endurance, and ambition, values that define both our business and Uganda’s young athletes. We are proud to stand behind the motocross community and to play an active role in driving the sport forward,” Menya said.

The Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) welcomed the sponsorship, noting its timely and transformational impact on the sport.

“This sponsorship could not have come at a better time. Motocross is growing fast, especially among young people. Vivo Energy Uganda’s support is not only timely, it is transformational. It strengthens the foundations of the sport and gives our athletes the resources they need to compete and excel,” note Arthur Blick Jnr, FMU deputy Vice President

The sponsorship will benefit participating riders in several key events, including; MX4 in Lira Omito, MX5 and MX8 in Garuga, and MX7 in Fort Portal.

This partnership highlights Vivo Energy Uganda’s support for local sports and its potential to drive growth and excellence in Motocross.
