It has been an exciting and entertaining day 1 of the Lumala @60 and Mum @90 Mbarara Rally that ended with Yasin Nasser on top.
The rally, which climaxed the first day at Mwesigwa Rukaari Resort, saw Ronald Ssebuguzi and Yasin Nasser put up an exciting battle in the double circuit super special stage and Nasser won by a whisker.
Nasser posted a total time loss of 7 minutes, 27.9 seconds beating second positioned ponsiano Lwakataka (7:44.6) by 26.7 seconds while Ronald Sebuguzi came third with 7 minutes, 45.6 seconds.
The MOIL racing driver Yasin Nasser said that he is happy for his Ford Fiesta to return in style, but he is still learning it as he prepares for the coming events.
“It is a good start, and we are looking at continuing on that tomorrow as we look forward to finishing the event,” the two- time national rally champion stated.
However, the shell V-power sponsored Ssebuguzi is also looking at a good finish tomorrow.
Tomorrow, saturday January 25,2025, the crews will attack two stages to be repeated thrice and end the rally with the prize giving at Lakeview Hotel.
