UPPC Entebbe produced clinical performances of the season as they defeated BUL FC 2–0 in a lively Uganda Premier League encounter at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Thursday evening.

The match began at a frantic pace, with both sides forced into early injury concerns. BUL’s Simon Achid and UPPC’s Ahmed Amayo needed medical attention inside the opening minutes, with Amayo eventually stretchered off and replaced by George Kiryowa after just five minutes.

Despite the early disruptions, UPPC goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa kept his side in the game with a brilliant 29th-minute save, diving sharply to deny Reagan Kalyowa what looked like a sure opener. Apart from that moment, the first half was a cagey affair, with neither side finding a breakthrough as the teams went into the interval locked at 0–0.

The second half, however, belonged entirely to UPPC Entebbe and to one man in particular: Ambrose Kigozi.

Just four minutes after the restart, Kigozi pounced on a well-weighted pass from Hassan Ssenyonjo to slot home the opener in the 49th minute. As BUL tried to reorganise, UPPC struck again almost immediately. In the 56th minute, Kigozi doubled the lead with a composed finish, completing a quick-fire brace that left BUL stunned.

Tensions rose when UPPC captain Mustafa Mujuzi required treatment, causing confusion on the touchline. Head coach Abdullah Mubiru was booked for protesting the delay in his captain’s return to the pitch.

BUL attempted to respond with a pair of substitutions and a late push that earned them a free kick on the edge of the box, but their efforts were repeatedly thwarted by UPPC’s compact defensive organisation. A water break in the 69th minute did little to change the rhythm, as UPPC maintained control.

Kigozi, easily the standout performer of the evening, later had to be stretchered off in the 84th minute after an injury, but his job had already been emphatically done. UPPC made late changes to preserve their lead, and the visitors saw out the match comfortably as the referee signaled full-time at 0–2.
