KCCA FC return to StarTimes Uganda Premier League duty on Tuesday with a home date against league newcomers Buhimba United Saints FC at MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The Kasasiro Boys go into the fixture eager to extend their fine run of form and preserve their place at the summit of the table before the league pauses for the AFCON 2025 window. KCCA currently lead the standings with 23 points from 10 outings, while Buhimba find themselves 14th with 10 points from the same number of matches.
The encounter carries historical significance, marking the first-ever Uganda Premier League meeting between the two sides. Buhimba are still finding their feet in the top flight and arrive in Kampala without a win since Matchday Three. Their recent struggles have seen them collect just one point from the last seven league matches, earned in a home draw against UPDF.
KCCA, on the other hand, are riding a wave of confidence after four consecutive league victories. However, defensive lapses remain a concern, with the Cityzens conceding in each of their last six league games.

Co-head coach Brian Ssenyondo has urged his players to approach the contest with maximum focus despite facing an unfamiliar opponent. He stressed the importance of professionalism, warning against complacency as KCCA look to turn home advantage into another three points.
“Every game in this league presents a unique challenge, and playing Buhimba United Saints for the first time is no different. We have analyzed their recent performances, and we know we cannot afford to underestimate them. Our focus has been on maintaining high concentration, especially in front of our home fans. The team must be professional, stick to the game plan, and ensure we convert our chances to secure the vital three points”
Team news sees Emmanuel Anyama suspended following his red card against NEC, while Charles Lukwago, Shafik Kwikiriza and Ivan Ahimbisibwe are unavailable after linking up with the Uganda Cranes for AFCON preparations in Morocco. Defender Peter Magambo continues his recovery from facial surgery, with Etienne Katenga and Joao Gabriel also sidelined due to long-term injuries.
Despite the absentees, KCCA still have a strong squad at their disposal as they aim to maintain momentum and end the first phase of the season on a high note.
