Entebbe UPPC boosted their Uganda Premier League title push with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over KCCA FC under the floodlights at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.
The contest was evenly balanced for much of the first half, with both sides probing cautiously. KCCA created the early chances, but UPPC goalkeeper Rogers Omedwa stood tall, producing a brave close-range save in a crowded box to keep the hosts at bay.

As the half wore on, UPPC grew into the game and nearly broke the deadlock through Ivan Ahimbisibwe, who sent a promising opportunity wide after neat link-up play. Just when it seemed the sides would head into the break level, UPPC struck in stoppage time. Ambrose Kigozi latched onto a perfectly weighted assist from Issa Mubiru and applied a composed finish to hand the visitors a crucial lead.
KCCA pushed for a response after the restart, making several changes in search of inspiration, but UPPC remained organised and disciplined. The visitors continued to press intelligently, creating moments of danger while frustrating the hosts’ attacking rhythm.

Despite late pressure and extended stoppage time, UPPC held firm to see out the narrow win, with Kigozi’s influence on both ends of the pitch earning him the Man of the Match award.
The victory lifted UPPC to second place on the table with 30 points, level with third-placed KCCA, while leaders Vipers remain clear at the top on 36 points.
