Vipers SC have booked their spot in the final of the 2024 Stanbic Uganda Cup after edging Kitara FC 1-0 in the return leg of the semi finals played on Saturday in Butema, Hoima.

The result sealed a 2-0 aggregate victory for the Venoms, who had earlier claimed a 1-0 win in the first leg at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

The decisive goal in Hoima came from midfielder Abdulkarim Watambala, whose strike proved enough to send Vipers through to the final.

Vipers will now await the winner between Kataka FC and KCCA FC, who clash in the return leg on Sunday in Mbale. KCCA head into that tie with a comfortable 3-0 lead from the first leg played at Lugogo.

This year’s final is scheduled for May 31 at Kadiba Stadium, with the tournament champion earning a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
