URA FC edged UPDF 3-2 in a pulsating Uganda Premier League clash at the Hamz Stadium on Tuesday, with winger Moses Aliro starring with a brace to guide the Tax Collectors to victory.
Aliro opened the scoring in the 25th minute, finishing off a fine move set up by Joseph Ssemuju, before Andrew Kigozi quickly leveled for UPDF two minutes later. George Masembe then restored URA’s lead just before halftime with a composed finish.
The army side came out stronger after the break, and Samuel Sekamate equalized in the 54th minute to make it 2-2. However, URA’s persistence paid off when Aliro calmly converted from the penalty spot in the 77th minute to seal the win and complete his brace.
The heated encounter saw several bookings—Rashid Faridi, Frank Mugisa, and Aggrey Kirya were cautioned for UPDF, while Ibrahim Wamana and Huddu Mulikyi received yellow cards for URA.
