Rwandan giants APR Men’s Team has been eliminated from the 2025 Genocide Memorial Volleyball Tournament after suffering two consecutive losses in Pool D. APR fell to Chazpir VC (Uganda) and Chema VC Juja (Kenya), ending their quarterfinal hopes.

Chema VC Juja Shocks APR

Chema VC Juja, a relatively new force in regional volleyball, stunned the home crowd with their fearless performance, earning a place in the knockouts. Their win over APR sent shockwaves across the tournament, signaling a new wave of Kenyan volleyball powerhouses on the rise.

APR’s Disappointment

APR’s early exit marks one of the biggest surprises of this year’s tournament. “This was not our expected outcome. We gave it our best, but the teams we faced were sharp and hungry,” said a disappointed APR player.

Other Quarterfinalists

Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) dominated Pool B and cruised into the quarterfinals alongside REG, Kepler, and Gisagara VC. On the women’s side, APR Women qualified from Pool A and will face KCB Nkumba.

Quarterfinals Set for Saturday

The stage is set for fierce battles as clubs fight for a spot in the semifinals. The quarterfinals will take place at Petit Stade Amahoro and NPC Gymnasium on Saturday.
