Morocco kept their Africa Cup of Nations dream alive with a composed 2–0 victory over Cameroon, sealing a place in the semi-finals after extra time in a tense night encounter in Rabat.
The quarter-final remained finely balanced for 90 minutes, with both sides locked in a tactical battle that produced few clear chances. Cameroon stayed compact and disciplined, frustrating the hosts, while Morocco probed patiently, backed by a passionate home crowd.

The breakthrough finally arrived early in extra time. A sustained spell of pressure paid off when Brahim Díaz pounced inside the penalty area, reacting quickest to a recycled corner to sweep a left-footed finish beyond the Cameroonian goalkeeper.
Forced to chase the game, Cameroon committed more men forward, but that ambition left spaces at the back. Morocco capitalised with a decisive second goal as Ismaël Saibari showcased his composure, drilling a low left-footed effort into the far corner after a cleverly executed set piece involving Nayef Aguerd.

Walid Regragui’s side demonstrated maturity and control when it mattered most, breaking their long-standing knockout struggles against Cameroon and doing so on home soil. While the Indomitable Lions bowed out after a spirited and organised display, it was Morocco who showed the cutting edge in the defining moments.

With the win, Morocco march into the AFCON semi-finals, energised by belief, momentum and the roar of Rabat — firmly establishing themselves as genuine contenders for continental glory. They will play the winner between Algeria and Nigeria in the semis finals

What a fantastic performance by Morocco! It was brilliant to see them control the game and secure that semi-final spot.
