Blacks Power FC returned to winning form in emphatic fashion on Sunday, thrashing Ntugasaze FC 5-0 in a one-sided FUFA Big League encounter at UTC Grounds in Lira.

The dominant performance marked their first win in five matches, breathing new life into their promotion hopes. The home side wasted no time asserting control, scoring three goals in the first half before adding two more after the break in a statement victory.

Baker Buyala got the scoring underway in the 25th minute, finishing off a swift attacking move. Just five minutes later, Michael Siwu doubled the lead from the penalty spot after a foul in the area. Paul Oonyu made it 3-0 in the 40th minute, putting the match firmly out of reach for the visitors before halftime.

Blacks Power picked up right where they left off in the second half. Buyala struck again in the 53rd minute, and then completed his hat-trick just six minutes later, rounding off the scoring at 5-0 before the hour mark.

The comprehensive win lifted Blacks Power to fourth place on the table with 45 points, overtaking Paidha Black Angels (43 points), who suffered a defeat on Saturday against Kigezi HomeBoyz.

Buhimba Saints United remain top of the standings with 49 points, followed closely by Calvary FC on 48 points. After a 4-0 win over already relegated Booma FC, Gaddafi FC now sit third with 46 points, holding the final automatic promotion slot—just one point ahead of Blacks Power.

Blacks Power’s next match could prove decisive, as they travel to face Gaddafi FC in Entebbe this Sunday in a crucial second-to-last fixture of the season. A win could push them into the top three and closer to a return to the Uganda Premier League.
