Buhimba United Saints solidified their place at the summit of the FUFA Big League table with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Booma FC in a tense Bunyoro derby played on Sunday at Kigaaya playground.

Despite falling behind in the 30th minute, Buhimba quickly found their rhythm and equalized just before halftime in spectacular fashion, Eric Washington Nyonyintono curled in directly from a corner kick to level matters.

The league leaders kept up the pressure after the break and were rewarded in the 65th minute when Edson Agondeze fired home the decisive goal, sealing a crucial home win for the Saints.

The victory marks Buhimba’s 12th of the 2024/25 season, taking them to 45 points from 24 matches and widening their lead at the top to three points.
