BUL FC have boosted their frontline with the capture of teenage striker Lawrence Kambugu, who has penned a two-year deal with the Jinja-based club.
The 18-year-old forward arrives with a glowing reputation after an outstanding season at Ntugasaze FC in the FUFA Big League, where he finished as the league’s top scorer with 15 goals. Though still young, Kambugu is no stranger to top-tier football, having previously turned out for Gaddafi FC in the Uganda Premier League before making his mark in the second division.
Speaking after sealing the move, Kambugu expressed his excitement at joining the Eastern Giants.
“This is a special moment for me. BUL is an ambitious team and I am here to contribute to its success. I believe I will grow as a player here and help the club achieve its targets.”
Head coach Abbey Kikomeko welcomed the signing, describing Kambugu as the missing piece in his attacking puzzle.
“Our main challenge last season was putting away chances, especially in the first round. We needed more firepower up front, and Lawrence gives us that option. He is young, hungry, and talented – the right profile for our project.”
With his pace, eye for goal, and youthful hunger, Kambugu now has the task of transforming his prolific second-tier form into top-flight goals as BUL aim to sharpen their title credentials.
