City Oilers defeated Victoria Crocs 60–56, bouncing back from their recent defeat to the JKL Dolphins and securing their third win of the season.

The Oilers started strong, taking an early lead in the first quarter, but the Crocs clawed back in the second and briefly led 27–24 with just over a minute to halftime. However, a late surge by the Oilers tied the game at 29–29 heading into the break.

Victoria struck first in the third quarter after a defensive lapse by the Oilers, and the teams remained deadlocked until mid-quarter. Turnovers hurt the Oilers, allowing the Crocs to edge ahead and take a 46–43 lead into the final stretch.

Joseph Chuma’s three tied the game early in the fourth, and although Fayed Baale exited with an injury, the Oilers showed grit. Missed free throws and turnovers kept the Crocs within reach, but with a minute left, the Oilers held a narrow 59–54 advantage.

A late traveling call on Cyrus Wobusobozi gave the Crocs a chance, but they missed a crucial three-pointer with 16 seconds remaining. Two free throws iced the game for the Oilers.

Ben Komakech led all scorers with 16 points, matching Victoria’s Deng Gai Isaac Jioka. Choul Nyout grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for the Crocs, while Baale notched five assists before his exit.

The win lifts the Oilers to 10th place (3–4), keeping their playoff hopes alive. They next face Livingston at YMCA on May 3. Meanwhile, the Crocs (2–4) will look to rebound against the Titans at Lugogo on May 7.
